About me

I (Brenda Louw) come from South Africa,
where as a child I was running around barefoot and birdwatching.
When I left school I studied and worked in nature conservation,
which developed my interest in plants.
This got me going on the medicinal use of herbs,
so I studied aromatherapy, reflexology and massage therapies.
I left home in the year 2000  wanting  to ‘see the world’.
One of my visits was Scotland, where I fell in love with Stuart and here I am!

My friend  took me to me to my first yoga class in South Africa, just before I left to travel.  Image
It intrigued me, so while working abroad, I bought some yoga books and attended classes in Bikrams and Ashtanga yoga with Samadhi Keever, my first yoga teacher and now friend.
When I came to settle in Scotland I gained my yoga teaching qualification with Union Yoga.
I have learned a lot from David Swenson, Brian Cooper,
Dharma Mittra, Ana Forrest, Salvatore Zambito
and everyone whom I meet along the way,
especially all who have been coming to my classes and courses
since I started teaching …

I believe that when we build our yoga practice gently and over time,
working with our mind and body's unique needs and eccentricities,
it is one of the most rewarding and unique gifts we can give ourselves.
